This program was established for clubs who do not have enough children in an age group to form a division. Teams typically begin at the U-9 (Players born in 2008) level. In the inter-league program, children from more than one age group may be put together to make a team. New and experienced intramural players in the Inter-league program have a place to play competitive games with teams from other clubs. Half the games involve traveling to the other team’s home field. The teams enjoy playing other local town clubs in their own age group. Many inter-league teams participate in tournaments. Players get exposure to experienced coaches who know the game. The coaches and players work to advance their skills and experience. Teams typically play in the Suffolk Soccer Inter-league but other programs such as the Route 135 League have emerged and some teams may play in other leagues. SSI is the largest intramural Interleague soccer program on Long Island, with 35 Clubs and over 300 teams playing scheduled scrimmages each week just for fun. Please see the link to Suffolk Soccer for more information.
Interleague, governed by Just Say Soccer, (JSS) has rules for playing time, number of players, size of field, etc. – click here or click here for more information.
